Interlaken Declaration: Affirming the Kimberley Process

As expected, the meeting of foreign ministers and other governmental representatives in Interlaken, Switzerland ended with a declaration of support for the Kimberley Process.

In a joint statement issued at the end of the meeting, the representatives of all the countries involved in the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme expressed satisfaction with the scheme and emphasized that the “widest possible participation in the Certification Scheme is essential and should be encouraged and facilitated.”
