Namakwa Recovers 1911 diamonds on SA’s West Coast
April 24, 03Australian miner Namakwa Diamond has recovered 1911 diamonds weighing 225 carats from its Namakwa project on South Africa's West Coast, where sampling began in January.
The company reported that the largest stone recovered was 5.92 carat.
The diamonds were recovered from Trench KKT5R, located within the Liebenberg Bay resource block, which was included in an initial resource estimate of 2.49 million tons at an average grade of 15.82 carat per hundred tons in February.
The latest sampling has brought the total number of diamonds recovered from sampling at the project to 17,783 diamonds weighing 1728 carat.
Namakwa said the latest results, “demonstrate consistency of grades and sample recoveries across the Liebenberg Bay area”.
