EGL Sets Indian Operation
December 10, 03The European Gemological Laboratories took over the operations of the International Gemological Laboratories in India and is setting its presence in the growing diamond center.
According to Allen Lowe, director of EGL’s Johannesburg office, IGL’s facilities have been upgraded, standards have been brought up to par with current international needs and training and will now be offered.
The labs, in Mumbai and Delhi, will grade and certify diamonds and colored stones and offer consultation to diamantaires.
Pritesh Jhaveri, the former manager of the IGL labs, will manage the Indian operation.
