Rosy Blue’s InterGold Plans Great Expansion
December 11, 03Indian gold and diamond jewelry chain InterGold plans to expand its presence in India to 60 stores, tripling its retail presence in the sub-continent, the company revealed during the opening of its third store in Delhi.
Currently InterGold has 21 stores in 13 cities across the country. According to CEO Vijay Jain at a rate of 30 percent, northern India is the fastest growing jewelry market, contributing 38 percent of InterGold’s turnover.
InterGold wants to take its success further and is now planning a 600 million rupee ($13.18 million) expansion backed by its parent company diamond corporation Rosy Blue, a DTC Sightholder with a turnover of $1 billion.
The jewelry chain spends about $2 million annually on jewelry design and is one of India’s biggest diamond jewelry exporters with design centers in the US, the Far East and Europe.
