CIBJO To Discuss Future Of Global Jewelry Industry
February 01, 04At its congress in Bangkok to be held later this month, CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, will be discussing the state of the global jewelry industry and strategies of jewelry retailing.
From February 28 to March 1, the likes of Prof. Carlo Alberto Carnevale Maffe of SDA Bocconi University, Milan, who will speak on “Dancing on rolling stones, competitive strategies for the jewelry industry,” and Gareth Penny, Executive Director of the DTC, who will deliver an “Update on the results and expectations of the implementation of DTC's Suppliers' choice policy”, will be joined by a range of global viewpoints at the congress with delegates from the UK, the UAE, the US and Russia.
Regional analyses will be given by Tawfique Abdullah, CEO of the Dubai Metals and Commodities Centre, on “Past, present and future of the jewelry retail distribution in Dubai,” and Sergei A. Oulin, Vice-President of Alrosa, on “Russian strategy for the growth of the domestic and export diamond market”.
Other speakers will be William Boyajian, president of the GIA, “Standard and quality measurements for diamonds and colored stones certification process,” and Eli Izhakoff, Chairman and CEO of the World Diamond Council, on the “Status and results of the Kimberley Process”.
According to CIBJO president, Gaetano Cavalieri, “By attracting so many representatives from all over the world, our congress has an important role to play in creating and reinforcing harmony within the jewelry industry and finding solutions for our common challenge”.
