Wal-Mart July Sales Soar to $20.610 Billion
August 05, 04Wal-Mart Stores, the world’s biggest retailer, reports net sales for July of $20.61 billion, an increase of 10.9 percent over the $18.589 billion in the same period last year. Sales for the first six months of the year were $135.065 billion, an increase of 12.1 percent over $120.517 billion the year before.
The International Division's sales for July were $4.139 billion, up 17.8 percent over sales of $3.514 billion in July 2003. The Division's year to date sales of $26.386 billion were up 18.7 percent over the $22.238 billion in the similar prior-year period.
Sam's Club July sales were $2.707 billion, up 8.8 percent over sales of $2.487 billion in the same period last year.
Wal-Mart Stores operates in all fifty U.S. states. Internationally, the company operates in Puerto Rico, Canada, China, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, the United Kingdom, Argentina and South Korea.
