Signet Closes the Year With 7.7% Rise in Sales
February 03, 05The world's largest retail jeweler ended the year with a 7.7 percent rise in sales at constant exchange rates to ₤1.618 billion ($3.051 billion). Like for like sales rose 5 percent.
Group quarterly sales did not do as well. Group like for like sales rose by 3.6 percent in the 13 weeks ending January 29. Total sales were up by 6.1 percent at constant exchange rates.
In the U.S., H.Samuel like for like sales were up by 0.6 percent during the fourth quarter while Ernest Jones saw a 2.5 percent rise. For the full year, H. Samuel like for like sales were up by 1.9 percent and Ernest Jones up by 4.5 percent.
