Tache Opens New Jewelry Factory in Mumbai
April 04, 05 by Albert Robinson
Tache Jewelry India has opened a 25,000 square feet state-of-the-art jewelry-manufacturing factory in Mumbai in the presence of DTC Managing Director Gareth Penny, Tache USA President and CEO Victor Weinman and Joseph Tache, Group President and CEO.
The factory will use diamonds sourced through the new Tache diamond office in Mumbai and transferred directly to the jewelry plant for production. Tache Alliance members and their clients are expected to reap the benefits of this integration in the form of considerable economies of scale.
Initially, Tache Jewelry India will specialize in the design and production of low-to-mid price fine diamond jewelry for both the U.S. and European markets. It will either develop its own in-house designs and models created by its staff or produce quality products from client-supplied designs.
Eventually, the factory is expected to employ up to 500 craftsmen to supply the needs of the Tache Alliance members and their clients.
