India Preparing for May Gold Jewelry Show

Hundreds of exhibitors from throughout India and abroad are planning to take part in the Gold Jewellery India International Exhibition 2005 from May 20-22.
Around 10,000 visitors from India and overseas are expected to visit the fair, which is being jointly organized by the World Gold Council and Madras Jewellers & Diamond Merchants Association. The show will be held at the Chennai Trade Centre.
Jewelry manufacturers from Singapore, Italy, Turkey and Malaysia will be taking part in the show.
South India is the country's largest market for gold and gold jewelry, accounting for close to half of the country's annual consumption of 600 tons of the yellow metal.
