Louisianan Stuller Establishes Katrina Relief Fund
September 04, 05Louisiana based jeweler and DTC Sightholder Stuller Inc has announced the establishment of a Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund at the Community Foundation of Acadiana. The Fund will aid the hundreds of thousands of people affected by the hurricane that ravished large parts of the U.S. Gulf Coast.
"Numerous trials await all of us as we help these people to put their lives back together. Simple things that we take for granted are no longer the norm. Today, clean, dry clothing, hot showers, toothbrushes, medication are all precious commodities for many," said President and COO Charles D. Lein.
The enormity of the destruction left by the hurricane that ripped through Mississippi, Alabama and Southeast Louisiana was revealed after it passed and subsided. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people were killed, hundreds of thousands lost their homes and are refugees in their own country.
Stuller, in a release on Friday, said donations to the Community Foundation of Acadiana is tax deductible and that it will direct all the money in the Stuller, Inc. Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund to the relief organizations that need it the most.
People interested in making a contribution can write a check payable to Community Foundation of Acadiana/Stuller Katrina Relief Fund and send it to P.O. Box 3892, Lafayette, LA 70502-3892.
