De Beers Class Action Settlement Expected in October

A public notice regarding claims for five separate lawsuits recently settled by De Beers is expected to be published in October 2007 according to the Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC). 

In 2005, De Beers put up a $250 million fund, later increased to $290 million, to settle all class action suits in the U.S.

The legal trade association said it will provide updates about the De Beers class action settlement and claim on their website (www.jvclegal.org).
