Israel Polished Diamond Exports $645.56 Million in September
October 18, 07Israel’s exports of polished diamonds shot up 31.2 percent in September, totaling $645.56 million. Israel exported 327,041 carats with an average value of $1,973.94 per carat.
Israel’s polished exports in the first ten months of the year reached $5.339 billion, an 8.2 percent increase over 2006, on exports of 3,077,871 carats, a 2.0 percent increase.
Exports during the month were mostly to Hong Kong for the Watch & Jewellery Show – $274.65 million worth of diamonds. The U.S., Israel’s main polished diamonds export destination, took $196.16 million worth of goods. Goods worth $42.90 million were exported to Switzerland.
