IDEX Online Exclusive: DTC Investigating a Number of Sightholders
January 22, 08 by Edahn Golan
The Diamond Trading Company (DTC) is investigating a number of its clients for Best Practice Principles (BPP) violations, a company source told IDEX Online on Tuesday. The investigations are not related to the ‘Brenig case’ convictions.
According to the DTC source, “A number of Sightholders, not associated with the ‘Brenig case’, are under investigation.” The DTC has employed a firm to check companies that have been selected for the 2008-2011 Sight contract. During the process “a number of issues” have been brought to the DTC’s attention as possible BPP violations.
However, in addition to those cases, there are a few additional ongoing BPP related investigations of Sightholders that began in the previous contract period.
The company said it is not interested in discussing the investigations publicly, adding that it intends to continue and peruse BPP breaches in the future.
