U.S. Cyber Monday Spend Jumps 15% to $846 Million
December 03, 08A sigh of relief was released as online retailers saw good traffic and strong sales on Cyber Monday. The sales that contradicted the hurting economy mood were a 15 percent year-over-year increase on Monday and a 13 percent rise in the four-days from Black Friday through Cyber Monday.
According to a comScore report published Wednesday, e-tailers generated $846 million in online sales, thanks to strong, single day promotions. It seems that buyers were waiting for these specials, as November sales were $12.025 billion, a 2 percent year-over-year decline.
The Friday to Monday sales totaled an estimated $2.437 billion.
