'Evening Star Diamond' Headlines Christie's Auction

Christie's announced last week that the "Evening Star Diamond," a pear-shaped 39 carat, D color diamond from a private collection, will lead its December Jewels Sale in
The Evening Star Diamond (above) is expected to sell for $3.6-5.5 million dollars.
With an estimated value between $3.6-$5.5 million, the Evening Star Diamond will be the highlight of a special auction that will immediately follow the larger New York Jewels Sale on December 10. Christie's said the sale is expected to realize in excess of $10 million.
In addition to the Evening Star Diamond, other rare items to be featured will include a classic Art Deco bracelet by Van Cleef & Arpels, set with five old-European-cut diamonds on a diamond foliate band that is estimated at $100,000-$150,000, as well as a diamond ring mounted in platinum with a 36.78 carat, rectangular-cut, D color, internally flawless diamond that is estimated $2.75-$3.5 million.
