Gitanjali’s Choksi Wins Award for Outstanding Entrepreneurship

(IDEX Online News) - Mehul Choksi, chairman and managing director of the Gitanjali Group, a DTC Sightholder, won the award for outstanding entrepreneurship at the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards function that took place in New Delhi last Friday.

Instituted by the non-governmental organization Enterprise Asia, the awards aim spurring leading entrepreneurs across the region to greater innovation, fair practices and in general, a growth in entrepreneurship. It is intended as a platform to encourage continued leadership towards sustainable economic development for the region.

Choksi, whose Gitanjali Group boasts a turnover of over $2 billion and operations all along the diamond pipeline from cutting and polishing through jewelry manufacture, branding and retailing, was given the award in recognition for not only his role in turning a diamond cutting and polishing firm into one of the world’s most fully vertically integrated operations, but also for his innovative and path-breaking business model and the fact that it will serve as a role model for emerging entrepreneurs to emulate.
