RJC Certifies Six More Companies
February 09, 12(IDEX Online News) – Six more companies have joined the ever-growing list of businesses certified by the Responsible Jeweller Council (RJC). The latest companies to have received their certification are Diambel NV, Esskay Gems Inc., Gembel European Sales NV, China Diamond Corporation Limited, D. Navinchandra Jewels and AR & AR Jewelry Inc.
Diambel NV is a diamond trader and rough and polishing manufacturer based in Antwerp. “Diambel NV has always promised its customers the best standards in all areas. Guaranteeing that the diamonds we sell have been sourced and produced ethically is pivotal to our business,” said Dimbel’s marketing co-ordinator, Saloni Sanghvi. The company was assessed by Ann Van Vlaenderen from WF&Co.
Diamond manufacturer Esskay Gems Inc., which was assessed by Diane Bove from SGS, is based in New York. “This highly regarded organization espouses the same ethical standards, integrity and philosophies that we as a company strive to uphold,” said the company’s president Elliot Krischer.
The assessment of Gembel European Sales NV, an Antwerp based rough and polished diamond trading company, was carried out by Stefaan Beirens from WF&Co. “We are one of the oldest diamond companies in the world and a family who has always been ahead for social causes, business ethics, human rights and environmental practices,” said Rashmi Mehta, the company’s chairman.
China Diamond Corporation Limited is based in Hong Kong and was verified by Cindy Cheung from SGS. “Our continuous efforts towards human rights, social and environmental practices have been recognized by achieving RJC Certification. We will continue to follow the high standards of business ethics set out by the Council,” said the company’s chief financial officer, Ketan Anandpara.
Mumbai-based jewelry manufacturer D. Navinchandra Jewels was assessed by Ankur Modawal from SGS. “We at D. Navinchandra Jewels are proud to be among the first jewelry manufacturing companies in India to be certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council,” said partner Punit Mehta. “We confirm our commitment to corporate values reflecting ethical business, social and environmental standards.”
“We are very honored to be an officially certified member of the Responsible Jewellery Council,” said Aras Tirtirian, co-owner of AR & AR Jewelry Inc. “At AR & AR Jewelry, we have been practicing the principles that RJC upholds for decades and are very grateful for the opportunity to come together with like minded companies to further these ideals.” The New York-based jewelry designer and manufacturer was certified by Diane Bove from SGS.
