Kiran Gems First to Have 400+ Sarin Machines

(IDEX Online News) – Indian manufacturer Kiran Gems has become the first company to have more than 400 Sarin rough planning and marking systems in one manufacturing facility. The company has 448 machines installed and running in its Surat facility.

“We believe Sarin’s planning and marking systems are key to our success in attaining the quality of polished diamonds for which we strive. Though 448 systems may seem quite a lot, and indeed they are, we are going to have 500 shortly and even 1,000 over time,” said Kiran chairman, Vallabhbhai S. Patel.

Sarin also announced that Kirtilal Kalidas Jewellers, one of south India’s leading retail jewelry chains, and founder of Eurostar, has selected Sarin's DiaScan S+ polished diamond grading system. The system will allow the chain’s customers to ascertain the quality of the diamonds they purchase.

Suraj Shanta Kumar, director of Kirtilals, said the $10,000 machines would soon be available at its 10 stores. The machines are designed to create awareness about diamond quality standards.

“We are especially excited about this groundbreaking development, as it confirms the validity of our newly launched Diamond Assay Service (DAS), introduced in the U.S. just two months ago,” said Sarin CEO Uzi Levami.
