GIA Mumbai Holds Seminar for Entrepreneur Group

A GIA gemology instructor introduces the world of gemstones to IMC Ladies Wing

(IDEX Online News) – The GIA in Mumbai recently held a seminar on the “World of Gemstones” for the Ladies’ Wing of the Indian Merchants’’ Chamber (IMC). The aspiring entrepreneurs were also taken on an interactive tour of GIA’s diamond grading laboratory in Mumbai.

As well as highlighting the rarities and origins of various gemstones, and the history of popular gemstones throughout the world, attendees were given tips on how to care for jewelry. They were also introduced to GIA’s programs on gems and jewelry for hobbyists and enthusiasts.

“GIA has always shared our wealth of knowledge with the public to help ensure trust in gems and jewelry,” said Manoj Singhania, education director of GIA in India and the Middle East. “Informative seminars like this help consumers develop an active and informed interest. This is first of more such initiatives to come.”

The Ladies’ Wing of the IMC regularly organizes seminars and workshops to provide industry-specific exposure to aspiring entrepreneurs.
