RJC to Discuss Responsible Business Practices

(IDEX Online News) – The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) will hold a session examining how the jewelry industry can ensure it is equipped for the future of the discerning consumer.

Titled “The Future of the Jewellery industry: Responsible Business Practices and the RJC Member Certification,” the following points will be considered:

• Crisis management: some multinational corporations have experienced a decline in their share value during a hit to their reputation.

• How to create and preserve a strong reputation – in order to avoid crises, strengthen your brand and increase your business?

• Understand the importance of stakeholders to maintain reputation and bring awareness of the broader political picture and emerging reputation issues.

• Building a platform of responsible business practices: for long-term resilience, to enhance corporate reputation and support consumer confidence.

David Ritter, President & CEO of the Canadian Jewellers Association will open the session.

RJC's COO Catherine Sproule will speak at the session, joined by Ryan Taylor, Chief Designer and Co-Founder of The Fair Trade Jewellery and Jeffrey Brenner, President of Jaybee Trading.

The event will take place during the JCK Toronto Jewellery Show on August 14, 9:30 am.
