Bonas Opens Antwerp Rough Design and Manufacturing Center

(IDEX Online News) – Lemon TechnoMist and Bonas opened in Antwerp a rough diamond collection centre for rough diamond design and manufacturing services. The center aims to serve both niche and large manufacturers.

According to the companies, the collection centre will use the latest Lexus-OctoNus proprietary technologies and provide the following services:

• Immersion Glass-based inclusion plotting (up to VVS purity) without windowing the rough stone
• Helium M-Box inclusion plotting
• Pacor Scanner and Pacor Software-based allocation and planning
• D-to-Z color estimation/optimization for planned solutions, through Oxygen D-Z technology
• Fancy color optimization
• Contract manufacturing of fancy colored diamonds and of colorless stones above 3 carats

Manufacturers will be able to outsource the cutting and polishing processes of highly valuable rough stones, reducing their manufacturing and operational costs as well as set a benchmark for their own manufacturing facilities.
