Gemesis CEO Steps Down: Company Says Realigned for Growth

December 20, 12 by IDEX Online Staff Reporter

Lox will be remembered for the large batch lab-made
diamonds caught by IGI that allegedly were sourced from
Gemesis
(IDEX Online News)
– Lab-created diamond firm Gemesis today (Thursday) announced that its CEO, Stephen D. Lux, has stepped down from his role. Lux headed the company when the undisclosed lad-made diamond scandal broke.

No reason was given for Lux's departure and the company said it was operating business “as usual.” In July the company was mentioned as the source of undisclosed lab-made diamonds, submitted to grading labs. The company issued public denials of any involvement in the submissions.

Martin DeRoy, director of marketing, said 2012 was an exciting year of growth and learning for the company and that it was “encouraged” by the results it had seen. “We have aligned our operations and increased marketing following a wonderful response from consumers for lab-grown diamonds.”

The Florida-based company produces gem-quality lab-created diamonds and jewelry.
