Large Italian Delegation to Take Part in Israel Buyers' Week
August 06, 13Among the delegation, some of them members of the Borsa D'Italia of Milan, will be Dr. Gaetano Cavalieri, president of CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, and Roberto Coin, one of Italy's best-known jewelry designers and manufacturers.
"Roberto Coin is recognized as one of the international jewelry industry's visionaries who has a deep understanding of what the consumer demands in today's luxury product market," said Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) President Yair Sahar.
Roberto Coin's jewelry is marketed in 53 countries at 800 points of sale.
Sahar also thanked Cavalieri, who is an honorary IDE member, for his advisory role to the organizers of the US & International Diamond Week in Israel, and Amram Zvi of Milan for working to bring a large Italian delegation to the buyers' week.
Around 350 Israeli companies have registered to take part in the show compared with 150 for the first event in March, with the IDE saying they would be offering around $2 billion of polished diamonds for sale – double the amount offered at the first buyers' week.
In addition to the Italian delegation, there will be a large group of buyers from the United States, two buyer delegations from India, and a group each from Russia and Hong Kong. Foreign buyers are expected to number around 350, compared with 200 at the March US & International Diamond Week.
