Alrosa Wins Auctions For Two License Areas in Yakutia

(IDEX Online News) – OJSC Alrosa successfully bid for the right to use subsurface mineral resources of two diamondiferous license areas in Western Yakutia – Piropovy Ruchey and the Zakonturnaya deluvial placer of the Udachnaya pipe. 

Both license areas are located close to Alrosa’s functioning deposits, and will enable the firm to extend its resource base. 

For the right to use subsurface mineral resources of Zakonturnaya deluvial placer of the Udachnaya pipe for exploration and mining of placer diamonds, Alrosa bid $755,000 (24.88 million rubles).

For the right to use the subsurface mineral resources of the Piropovy Ruchey deposit for exploration and mining of placer diamonds Alrosa offered $3.18 million (104.68 million rubles).

In accordance with the auction rules, the results of the auction are subject to approval by the government of the Russian Federation.
