Strong Israeli and Belgian Presence at New Freiburg Show

(IDEX Online News) – Israeli and Belgian diamond companies will be prominent at the new UBM trade show, Jewellery & Gem Fair Europe.
The April 1-4 show in Freiburg in southern Germany, which overlaps with BaselWorld, will feature exhibitors of diamonds, gemstones and jewelry. The show will feature 400 exhibitors from 28 countries.
The Belgian presence includes 25 diamond dealers and diamond labs from Antwerp, in the only Antwerp Diamond Pavilion in Europe, according to the Antwerp World Diamond Center.
Meanwhile, the Israel Diamond Pavilion, organized by the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI), will be located at the entrance to the show in Hall 1-3 in Messe Freiburg. There will be 30 Israeli companies exhibiting in the pavilion and an additional five companies in other locations at the show.
The pavilion will feature the new “Find Your Diamond” system, which enables buyers to search the inventory of all the Israeli exhibitors in the show to find the exact diamonds they are seeking.
IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar praised UBM for initiating the new show. “We're hoping that if this show takes off, it can offer Israeli diamond companies an alternative to BaselWorld, which over the years has become a less appropriate venue for diamantaires,” he said.
