World’s Largest Blue Diamond to Lead Christie’s Geneva Sale
April 24, 14 (IDEX Online News) – The world’s largest flawless blue diamond, a 13.22-carat stone, is to lead Christie’s auction of Magnificent Jewels in Geneva next month.
The diamond has a pre-sale estimate of $21 million-$25 million and is the leading gem of the 240 lot sale on May 14, which is estimated to raise around $80 million.
The sale will also feature a range of other important diamonds, including the 5.5-carat The Ocean Dream, the largest fancy vivid blue-green diamond in the world to come to auction, with an estimated sale price of $7.5 million; the 76.51-carat Light Pink cut-corned square-cut diamond, set as a necklace centerpiece by Leviev, which carries a pre-sale estimate of $7 million-$10 million, and a pear-shaped D-color flawless diamond of 75.97 carats estimated at $13.5 million-$15.5 million.
Other highlights include The Rajah diamond, an old-mine brilliant-cut diamond of 26.14 carats (estimate: $3 million-$5 million) and a JAR ring featuring three regular-cut diamonds estimated at $330,000-$460,000.
