(IDEX Online News) – The number of Israeli diamond companies scheduled to participate at the upcoming JCK Las Vegas show has doubled from last year to almost 100. Forty-seven companies will be exhibiting as part of the Israel Diamond Pavilion, which is located in the Diamond Plaza; while a further 50 diamantaires will exhibit at other locations throughout the show.
Israel Diamond Industry managing director Eli Avidar said that the increase in Israeli participation highlights the continuing importance of the US market to the Israeli industry.
The US is Israel’s leading market for polished diamonds. Last year, almost 40 percent of Israel’s $6.2 billion net polished diamond exports went to the American market, totaling $2.3 billion. Israel is also the largest supplier of polished diamonds to the United States.
IDI chairman Moti Ganz said he was pleased that the US market is showing a recovery and that the Israeli industry expects it to be a very good show.
