AWDC Holding Special DRC Business Event

(IDEX Online News) – The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) is holding a special event today (Tuesday) for members of the diamond industry interested in doing business in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Members of the Antwerp diamond sector will be able to meet Jérôme Roux, representative of Flanders Investment and Trading (FIT) and the Walloon Agency for Exports and Foreign Investment (AWEX) in Kinshasa at the AWDC offices. The meeting will take place from 12pm-2pm.

The meeting provides an opportunity to meet Roux ahead of an economic mission he will lead in November/December which will deal with energy and mining issues.

The Congolese Minister of Mines will accompany Roux on the mission. In addition, FIT/AWEX is planning a mission to the south of the DRC, and to the east of the country in February 2015. During both missions, the diamond industry will be on the agenda, the AWDC said in a statement.
