July 19, 14He added that the show takes place just before a series of international gem and jewelry trade shows in Asia and elsewhere.
"With summer vacations starting for most players in the international gem and jewelry industry, the pace of business is shifting down and the buyers' markets are more quiet," Schnitzer said.
"Meanwhile, in the major consumer markets in northern America and in Asia's major trading hubs, the luxury consumer product market is showing very promising signs of revival and significant growth. This bodes well ahead of the holiday season," he added.
"By September, the trend will be clear: the markets are going up and so is the demand for quality polished diamonds. Therefore, the International Diamond Week … is a fantastic opportunity for diamond traders, dealers, distributors and wholesalers to stock up on diamonds to meet the demand that is coming their way as the holiday sales season approaches," Schnitzer stated.
As in previous editions of the International Diamond Week, qualified and confirmed buyers will be offered up to four free hotel nights in the designated venue hotels. "We have booked rooms at several hotels close to the Ramat Gan diamond exchange complex," said Moti Besser, the IDE's general manager. He added that they will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
