Exhibitors Generally Happy With India International Jewellery Show
July 20, 14“It was a good show for us," said Colin Shah, Managing Director of Kama Schachter. "The market is good and sales have been more or less what we had in mind."
Kiran Gems Marketing Manager Swaroop Biswas was also happy with the show. "It has been a very good fair. Sales were in line with expectations. There is solid demand from Indian buyers."
Meanwhile, Vipul Shah at Shree Ramkrishna Exports said this year's show had been better than the 2013 event. "There is good demand from local players. We saw good sales in 2-3 carat stones in VS and SI in lower colors. There were not so many international buyers and that was a bit of a disappointment for us," he added.
At the Israeli pavilion, some of the eight companies exhibiting were less happy about the show, however. "It was very quiet on the first two days," said one exhibitor who requested not to be named.
"We expected more than this; it has been quite disappointing. There was a bit more interest on Sunday, but in general this was not a good fair for us. There was a lot of foot traffic and surface interest but potential buyers simply did not come back after their first round of checking goods and prices," he added.
