Kiran Gems Workers Clean Up Mumbai Beach

(IDEX Online News) – Kiran Gems, the world's largest diamond manufacturer, took part in a national initiative called Swachh Bharat Abhiyan with a clean-up drive at Juhu beach in Mumbai.

The company's participation involved more than 900 employees, including Group Chairman Vallabhbhai Patel, Managing Director Mavji Patel, Directors Dinesh Lakhani, Rajesh Lakhani and Varun Lakhani and an additional 90 industry patrons who supported the cause.

The company conducted its cleaning activity with 47 groups of employees covering the whole stretch of the beach. The six best-performing groups received trophies, and the best 20 individual performances were also recognized.

Top political leaders from Mumbai took part in the awards ceremony.

The chief guest Ashish Shelar MLA from Bandra Vidhan Sabha and President Mumbai of the ruling BJP political party, said: "This is wonderful that a private company like Kiran Gems came forward to take part in the initiative with such huge numbers of employees and it is commendable."

Meanwhile, Mavji Patel said: "This is our country and we should care for it. Through this we have learned two things: we should practice cleanliness and we should not spread litter. I appreciate every employee's effort today and congratulate them for such a great accomplishment."
