Lucapa Discovers 90-Carat Stone at Lulo
September 29, 15(IDEX Online News) – A diamond weighing in excess of 90 carats is among the latest finds from the Lulo Diamond Project in Angola. The 90.31 carat, D color, type IIa stone is the largest recovered by Lucapa Diamond Company Limited and its partners since alluvial mining began at Lulo in January.
The biggest diamond recovered so far at Lulo, a 131.4-carat D color, type IIa gem, was recovered from the same area in 2012.
Other specials (10.8+ carats) recovered from Mining Block 8 since the company’s update on September 22 include diamonds weighing 56.52 carats, 36.61 carats, 29,.94 carats, 21.16 carats, 18.71 carats, 17.06 carats and two 11-carat stones.
