WFDB Executive Committee to Discuss Strategy

(IDEX Online News) – The executive committee of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) will meet in Idar-Oberstein, Germany, from November 1-2 to discuss the current condition of the global diamond industry and to put a new strategy in place.
The meeting will be hosted by Germany’s Gemstone and Diamond Exchange.
"We have made very serious progress in formulating a new and highly pro-active approach regarding the work of the WFDB, led by our recently appointed executive director Louise Prior," said WFDB president Ernie Blom. "Everything is on the table and will be debated at the meeting.”
Blom said since the organization plays such a crucial role in representing the industry, he believes it is critical to more clearly define the organization’s strategy, mission, vision and values. “We will also agree on proposals to grow our membership by broadening the benefits of being a WFDB member,” he added.
Among the planned speakers at the meeting is World Diamond Mark (WDM) chairman Alex Popov, who will present the next stages of the development plans of the WDM; an initiative backed by the WFDB
