Dominion’s Sable Project Pre-Feasibility Study Shows Encouraging Signs
February 23, 16(IDEX Online News) – Dominion Diamond Corporation has announced positive findings following a pre-feasibility study of the Sable kimberlite pipe deposit.
The pipe, which is located beneath Sable Lake, 17 kilometers north-northwest of the existing Ekati mine infrastructure in the Core Zone Joint Venture property in Canada’s Northwest Territories, is a part of the company’s Jay Project.
Dominion said that according to the findings from the report, the Ekati process plant will have its life extended until 2033, when incorporating predicted production from the Sable pipe into the Jay Project. Sable processing is expected to be concluded in 2027, and is expected to produce higher value ore.
The company expects to recover 10.1 million carats from Sable and estimates that the initial development capital will be $142 million, which includes the building of an access road and site infrastructure.
