KP Calls for Vigilance Over Fake Cameroon Certificates

(IDEX Online News) – The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KP) has released a warning to the diamond industry, after the United Arab Emirates received a shipment from Cameroon with fake KP certificates.
Upon inspection at UAE Customs, the KP certificate was thought to be suspicious – now confirmed by the Cameroonian authorities. The document was also uploaded on the restricted side of the KP website as well.
The KP urged its members to pay special attention to shipments of rough diamonds accompanied by a Cameroon KP certificate.
