AGS Presents Awards at Annual Conclave

(IDEX Online News) – The American Gem Society (AGS) recently presented a number of awards to honor excellence, professionalism and a commitment to ethics and consumer protection at its annual Conclave.

Marc Nanasi, RS, was the recipient of the Young Titleholder Award, for his exemplary service to AGS, presented to him by the co-chairs of the Young Titleholder’s Steering Committee, Lisa Bridge, CG, and Anna Samsonova, CGA.

Guild’s National Treasurer, Marc Altman, CGA, was the recipient of the Sallie Morton Award, which recognizes the contribution of individuals who have gone over and above in their service to the AGS Guilds each year – in particular for his efforts to AGS Guilds’ financial details and helping publicize almost 300 meetings.

The St. Louis Guild won the Guild of the Year Award, in particular for its work with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Alumnae group.

The final recipients were FBI: Special Agents Jay Bartholomew and Eric Ives, who were presented with John J. Kennedy Award, who have helped organize and fund FBI speakers throughout the country. Kennedy is the president of the Jewelers Security Alliance (JSA) and the award is a tribute to his leadership of that organization and for his advocacy and service to the security of the jewelry industry.
