Diamond Producers Invited to Take Part in World Diamond Congress

(IDEX Online News) – The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) announced that it has invited leading diamond producer representatives to the upcoming World Diamond Congress in Dubai.

One of the sessions at the congress will focus on “Transparency, Responsibility, Sustainability in Producing Countries,” in which representatives of global producers will participate in a panel discussion.

WFDB president Ernie Blom said that the congress will be the first time that a panel element will be introduced, with the aim of encouraging attendees to take part and ask questions of the attendant panellists. Blom anticipated that likely questions would revolve around the encouragingly strong start to 2016 for rough diamond purchases.

"We are expecting delegates from the major diamond producing companies and countries to take part," said Blom. "They will present their views on the state of the market and their supply strategies, as well as other subjects.”
