DDE Set to Host Alternatives of Diamond Financing Seminar
May 16, 16(IDEX Online News) – The Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), a Dubai Multi-Commodity Centre (DMCC) platform is gearing up to hold the second Dubai Diamond Financing Seminar on Alternatives of Diamond Financing.
The finance session, (which will be held tomorrow, Tuesday) will be integrated into the 37th World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) World Diamond Congress, which begins today (Monday) in Dubai. The seminar, which will be hosted by DDE chairman Peter Meeus, aims to raise awareness of diamond financing options and how Dubai’s trade infrastructure, banks and financial institutions can further support the industry.
Speakers at the seminar include, Rajiv Jain, head United Arab Emirates diamond & jewelry clients, ABN-Amro; Biju Patnaik, head gem & jewelry segment, IndusInd Bank Limited; Davy Blommaert, unit head for precious metals and diamonds, National Bank of Fujairah and Alain Vandenborre, executive chairman & founder, SDiX.
“Securitisation, credit insurance and asset backed trade finance are new ways of bringing diamond financing to the next level,” said Meeus.
