IGI Holds Sixth Annual D-Show in Goa
June 28, 16(IDEX Online News) – The International Gemological Institute (IGI) announced that it recently hosted the sixth edition of its D-Show in Goa, during which more than 2,000 meeting took place between manufacturers and retailers.
More than 100 retailers and 24 manufacturers from across India attended the event, which was initiated to further develop India’s diamond and gemstone trade by facilitating clear communication and providing key educational platforms.
The show is a platform for key decision-makers from manufacturers and jewelers to meet and try to strengthen business arrangements and processes.
There is also an education aspect to D-Show, where there was a panel discussion designed to address current jewelry challenges facing the industry. This year’s event focused on lab-grown diamonds, as well as issues related to tax, excise duty and the impact on the industry.
“The D-Show makes it possible to promote long-term business relationships, which extend far beyond a single sales transaction,” said IGI-India managing director Tehmasp Printer. “The one-on-one interactions ensure a range of challenges are discussed and solutions are found in real time.”
The IGI D-Show concluded with an awards ceremony, where Printer presented each invited manufacturer with the Responsible Jewellery Manufacturer award. Retailers were given certificates of authenticity, validating the quality and natural origin of their diamonds evaluated by IGI.
