ALROSA Names 214-Carat Diamond for Famed Russian Choreographer

(IDEX Online News) – Russian diamond miner ALROSA has announced it will name the recently-recovered 214.65-carat stone for Russian ballet choreographer, Boris Eifman.
ALROSA made the decision to commemorate Elfman, a well-known ballet dancer, artist and choreographer, on his 70th birthday.
The Boris Eifman measures 42.11mm x 34.26mm x 16.07mm, and is translucent with a gray hue. The stone contains cracks filled with graphite and sulphide composition and the diamond is 4 Black Clivage/Makeable Gray.
