The IDEX Online Polished Price Report - July 2017

(IDEX Online News) – There were slightly higher levels of activity in July than in the previous two months. There were declines of 2-3 percent in 0.70-0.79 stones in I-L colors in VS2-SI1 clarities, and increases in 0.30-0.39 carat goods in D-G colors in VS1-SI1 clarities, and in the 0.40-0.44 category in D-F colors in IF-SI1 clarities.

As with round stones, fancy diamonds saw slightly more price movements than in previous months, and those that did occur were largely downwards, especially for items of half a carat and below. Diamonds in the 0.30-0.39-carat category in D-I, IF-SI2 goods posted declines of 1-3 percent, and goods in the 0.40-0.44 carat category in top colors and a wide range of clarities saw decreases in the 2-5 percent range. Meanwhile, in the 1.50-1.99 carat category, there was a strong downward trend in almost all colors in the SI1-SI2 bands. On the rising side, 0.50-0.69 carat stones in D-G colors, VS2-SI2 clarities increased by 1-4 percent.
