Lucapa Latest Sale Raises $7.4M, Sales So Far In 2017 At $24.3M
September 10, 17(IDEX Online) – Lucapa Diamond Company Limited has sold 3,214 carats of diamonds from the Lulo alluvial diamond project in Angola for $7.4 million in the seventh sale for 2017.
The diamonds achieved an average price per carat of $2,298.
The sale parcel included two Type IIa gems weighing 83 carats and 58 carats, respectively, as well as colored stones.
Lulo diamond sales so far this year have generated $24.3 million at an average price per carat of $1,640.
The diamonds in last week's sale were mostly from the high-value Mining Block 8 area at Lulo, Lucapa added in a statement.
