ALROSA and Belgium Strengthen Diamond Ties With Ambassador's Visit
October 10, 17(IDEX Online) – ALROSA's United Sales Organization (USO) hosted Belgium's Ambassador to Russia, Jean-Arthur Régibeau, at one of Russia's main diamond cutting facilities - DIAMONDS ALROSA.
"It was a familiarization visit," ALROSA said in a statement. "Belgium has been and remains the largest sales outlet for our products, accounting for about a half of ALROSA's rough diamond sales. In the first half of this year alone, sales to this country by value amounted to almost $1.3 billion."
Régibeau met with the heads of subdivisions and became acquainted with the process flow and work methods at the plant.
"We are always ready to demonstrate our technical capabilities, level of expertise and standards of work with diamond products to Belgian partners. We have showed Régibeau a collection of unique and personalized stones and a recently mined rare pink diamond weighing 27.85 carats," said Evgeny Agureev, director of the USO ALROSA.
Régibeau was shown the work of cutters, equipment facilities, and polished diamonds manufactured by Russian craftsmen, including the famous Dynasty collection with the most expensive diamond ever polished in Russia.
