Canadian JA to Host 2006 CIBJO Congress

The Canadian Jewellers Association will host the 2006 CIBJO Congress in Vancouver, Canada, announced Catherine Sproule, executive director of the Association.

“We are delighted to be afforded the opportunity of hosting the CIBJO Congress,” said Sproule. “As a diamond producing nation, our entire diamond community, and indeed the whole of the jewelry industry is keen to showcase Canada to the world.”

While exact dates have not been set yet, Sproule said it would probably be adjacent to a major trade show in the region. CIBJO says it is likely to take place in February, before or after the Tucson and Phoenix trade shows, or in May or June, around the time of the JCK Show in Las Vegas.

The next CIBJO Congress is scheduled to take place in Hong Kong, from March 5-8, 2005.
