Jewelry & Watches 10th Highest eBay Category in Q2

Sales of jewelry and watches were the 10th highest category on Internet auction site eBay during the second quarter at $1.5 billion. In all of 2004 the site sold $1.7 billion of jewelry and watches.
The leading category by far was automobiles at $14.3 billion followed by clothing and accessories at $3.3 billion.
The online auctioneer reported second quarter net revenues of $1.086 billion – a 40 percent rise on the year-earlier period.
Gross profit was $894.5 million, or 82 percent of net revenues, compared with 81 percent of net revenues in the second quarter of last year.
