In April, a necklace with 72 matched yellow diamond retailing for $500,000 is on display in the window. The necklace, along with other jewelry provided to Lee Havens by Gemesis, including ear clips, rings and pendants, priced from $20,000 to $40,000, will be sold to benefit The Foundation for AIDS Research (AmFAR), with ten percent of proceeds going to the charity.
Havens, who according to local news source Palm Beach Daily News, is one of the first high-end American designers to create fine pieces using cultured diamonds, said that he finds the cultured diamonds’ environmentally friendly and conflict-free nature appealing. `
