Tache Offers Clients Guaranteed Price in Case of Decline
November 25, 08Starting Tuesday, Antwerp-headquartered Taché Diamonds has begun offering its clients protection against further polished diamond price list decreases. The firm told IDEX Online that it will accept returned goods or refund the difference if the price of the goods decline.
According to Maurice Tawil, merchandising manager at Taché, the company decided on the strategy in a move to reassure buyers who may be concerned that list prices will fall further.
“Some are waiting for the prices to continue their decline,” he said, adding that an absurd situation has risen – buyers with money are holding out at a time when prices are low. This phenomenon is most noted among Chinese and other Far East buyers.
The move is a temporary measure, Tawil said, expressing hope that other firms in the industry will also adopt the company's initiative in an attempt to generate sales. “There is a huge opportunity here,” he noted.
The offer refers to closed deals as from today (Tuesday), after Mazal was given, but it does have some conditions attached, said Tawil, who declined to give any further information.
