Belgium Exports $1 Billion of Rough Diamonds in July

Belgium’s gross rough diamond exports in July were a relatively high $1 billion on shipments of 11.2 million carats, according to the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC). Exports increased by 17.5 in value and declined 2.1 percent in volume, compared to July 2009.
The rough trading center imported 8.2 million carats worth $690.6 million, 12.2 percent decline in volume, yet a 10 percent increase in value.
Net trade totaled $313.4 million on exports of 3.1 million carats.
