Three More Companies Receive RJC Certification
February 23, 12(IDEX Online News) – Vacheron Constantin, Firestar Diamond BVBA and Rothschild Diamonds Limited are the three latest companies to have joined the ever-growing list of businesses certified by the Responsible Jeweller Council (RJC).
Vacheron Constantin, is the world’s oldest watchmaker with uninterrupted activity and part of Richemont International SA. The company was verified by Michel Moser from SGS. “Ever since September 17th 1755, when Jean-Marc Vacheron hired his first apprentice, at Vacheron Constantin we have been driven by our strong values,” said Juan-Carlos Torres, CEO of Vacheron Constantin.
“Our objective is to transmit these values as well as our skills to future generations. Today the RJC certification confirms that our convictions are in line with those of the RJC and acknowledges one of our main values: the aspiration to be a good corporate citizen - socially aware, responsible and open to the world,” he added.
Belgian diamond trader Firestar Diamond BVBA received its verification from Ann Van Vlaenderen from WF&Co. “Firestar Diamond is honored to obtain the RJC certification for the next three years. It is an acknowledgement of our commitment to the highest standards of corporate, social, environmental and ethical standards,” said Neeshal Modi, director of Firestar Diamond BVBA.
Rothschild Diamonds Limited’s certification assessment was conducted by Peter Warbrick from SGS. “We are proud to have been recognized as an officially certified member of the Responsible Jewellery Council,” said managing director Jeremy Rothschild. “The founding principles of the RJC are core to the way that Rothschild Diamonds conducts its business. We believe that operating in an ethical and socially responsible manner is essential for all companies in the jewelry industry. We look forward to continuing to support the work of the RJC."
