RJC Launches Precious Metals Chain-of-Custody Standard

(IDEX Online News) – The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) has launched its Chain-of-Custody (CoC) Standard for precious metals Monday.

The CoC Standard aims to support responsibly sourced gold, platinum, palladium and rhodium produced, processed and traded through the jewelry supply chain. 

RJC defines responsibly sourced as:

• Conflict-free as a minimum, and
• Responsibly produced – human rights, labor standards, environmental impact and business ethics, as articulated in the RJC Code of Practices, which is applicable to the jewelry supply chain from mine to retail.
